Breakfast: Pancakes & sausage (patrols cook & clean)
8:30 AM — Depart camp. Headcount.

Distance: 10 miles Difficulty: Moderate — rolling terrain, some rocky sections Est. Time: 6–7 hours with stops Pace: ~1.5 mi/hr (includes rest stops every hour) Water: Carry 1+ quart. Refill at Visitor Center restrooms (~mile 5)
Wear: Class A uniform + blue troop fleece. Good hiking boots.

Stay on marked trails. Buddy system at all times.
No climbing on monuments or cannons.
If injured: stay put, blow whistle 3x, leader will come to you.
Turnaround: if behind schedule by 2 PM, leaders may shorten the route.

7:30 AM — Strike tents. Police campsite. Flag lowering. Break camp.
Name: Gettysburg NMP Museum & Visitor Center Address: 1195 Baltimore Pike, Gettysburg, PA 17325 Hours: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM (April) Admission: ~$15.50/adult, ~$10/youth (6–12). BSA discount may apply — ask at desk. Time Slot: 9:30 – 11:00 AM (~90 min)
1. Cyclorama (30 min) — 360° painting of Pickett's Charge. Timed entry. Go first.
2. Film: “A New Birth of Freedom” (22 min) — Narrated by Morgan Freeman.
3. Museum Galleries (remaining time) — Focus on the Interactive Battle Maps (2nd floor).
Meeting Point: Front entrance flagpole at 11:00 AM sharp Parking: Free lot at Visitor Center
Optional — leave early if needed to get home on time
Sandwiches & chips packed Saturday night — eat before or during the drive
1:00 PM — Depart Gettysburg
~2:45 PM — Arrive at church. Unload patrol gear. Parents pick up.

Bring your own no-cook meal. Cracker Barrel snacks available (granola bars, hot chocolate, trail mix).

Pancake mix + syrup + frozen sausage links. Gatorade to drink. Patrols cook on camp stoves.
Lunch — Trail Sandwiches
Made Friday night. Sandwiches + chips + trail mix + fruit. Packed in bags for the hike.
Dinner — Quesadillas
Ground beef, cheese slices, tortillas. Patrols cook on camp stoves/skillets.
Snack — S'mores
Graham crackers + marshmallows + Hershey's chocolate bars. At the campfire.
Breakfast — Muffins, Oatmeal & Fruit
Cold breakfast (no morning fire). Muffins, oatmeal packets, yogurt cups, clementines. Hot water for oatmeal/cocoa if stoves available.
Lunch — Bag Sandwiches
Made Saturday night. Sandwiches + chips. Eaten before/during the drive home.
